This is not only an abstract sculpture of minimalism, but also a practical construction for pedestrians to walk through. The crossed structure of X symbol provides both aesthetic outline and protection wings on bridge's two sides, offering integrality in vision and mechanics to complete the constructional concept of bridge itself. The creation purpose of this bridge is to involve art into the most ordinary daily life, for sculptures to be utilized by common people.

Designed by Ding Yi in 2006, Wing Bridge is a site-specific sculpture which responds closely to the environment of the riverbank in the sculptural park of Zhangjiang Museum of Modern Art. The intertwining relationship of being as a bridge and as a sculpture emerges through the rising steel plates from opposite banks of the river towards each other. As the bridge fences of the pedestrian pathway, the structural configuration in the shape of ‘x’ also contours an aesthetic framework for the sculpture.
